Who We Are...
Our mission is to provide undergraduate students with experience in all areas of theatrical production, including acting, directing, writing, stage management, light/costume/set design and producing. TBF strives to create theatre that is relevant to our education, community and world.
Our History...
Beginning in 1893 as the Thalian Dramatic Club, we are one of the oldest chartered theatrical societies in America. When another dramatic club, the Blackfriars, emerged in 1926, the groups rivaled until their merge in 1931, thus forming the Thalian-Blackfriars. TBF went on to help create what is now The University of Georgia's Department of Theatre, in 1939.
